A guide to keeping parents engaged with SOCS

Welcome to our essential guide for schools helping you to onboard and engage your community with SOCS year-round! Whether you're welcoming new families or nurturing existing ones, our goal is to help you maximize the benefits of our software. This comprehensive guide covers everything you need.

Easy access using SSO

Before you launch SOCS to your school community, activate Single Sign-On (SSO) for both parents and pupils. SSO provides top-notch security and a seamless experience. Our platform integrates smoothly with various platforms. Find out more here.

Tips for communicating with your school community

1

Introduce SOCS during your start-of-year parent induction programme.  Including a whistle-stop tour of SOCS as part of your parent on-boarding talk/presentation provides familiarity with the system from the word go.

2

Include relevant links in your start-of-year handbook and continue to revisit the information regularly, especially before significant events like activity sign-ups. Communicating with parents via multiple touch-points throughout the year ensures everyone stays informed and engaged.

3

Below is useful material dedicated to the parent/pupil experience of SOCS.   This information can be customised to match your school's unique style and shared through your preferred communication channels.

4

Consistently updating your SOCS Calendar events, fixture information, and activity and music schedules fosters a sense of reliability in the system.

Rinse and repeat!

Tracy, our experienced SOCS Client Success specialist, draws from firsthand experience in successfully communicating with a large parent body about SOCS. She sums it up perfectly:

Communication with parents is all about 'rinse and repeat!' While sending information once may reach some parents, in their busy lives juggling many tasks, it's vital to consistently push updates for easy access.
