New features & updates

SOCS Facilities updates

We’re pleased to share that the ability to add and view bookings directly from the Location Availability and Location Schedule views is now live within Facilities.

This enhancement makes it quicker and easier to manage bookings in context, helping streamline day-to-day scheduling.

Our team is also continuing to make great progress on the new recurring bookings feature, which will be available soon, further simplifying how regular bookings are created and managed.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as this develops, so keep an eye on upcoming newsletters for the latest!

New pupil and parent portals live in testing schools

We’re really excited to now have the new Pupil and Parent Portals live in our testing schools. Thank you to everyone who has shared such positive feedback so far — it’s been great to see, and there’s plenty more to come.

As a reminder, you can watch our overview video for a closer look at what’s new and what’s coming next.

If your school would like early access to the Parent Portal ahead of the wider launch, we’d love to hear from you.

Please register your interest by contacting support@socs.tech or find out more about our new parent portal here

The juggle is real: How SOCS helps parents manage busy family life

We’re pleased to share a new article from guest writer Richard Shorter, also known as Non-Perfect Dad.

Richard explores the reality of busy family life and the daily challenge parents face balancing school, sport and everything in between. He highlights how, when SOCS is used well and with consistent standards across co-curricular clubs, it can play a key role in helping parents stay organised and reduce the pressure of managing complex schedules.

The article also touches on the importance of building goodwill. Last minute changes will always happen due to illness, weather or travel disruption, but when these are the exception rather than the norm, parents are far more likely to respond with understanding and flexibility.

It’s a thoughtful and relatable read for schools looking to better support their parent community. Read the full article here!
