SOCS announced as Howden RPNS7s live-streaming partner

We’re thrilled to share that SOCS is expanding its long-standing partnership with the Howden Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens, stepping into a new role as the tournament’s official live-streaming partner.

After 26 years powering the digital backbone of the world’s largest schools’ rugby competition, SOCS will bring SOCS TV to even more pitches in 2026, delivering safeguarding-led streaming, fixtures, results and a richer viewing experience on schoolssports.tv.

With more than 1,000 teams and thousands of fixtures across the week, RPNS7s remains a true celebration of talent, teamwork and school sport — and we’re proud to help shape its future.

New “late” option & lateness reporting added to SOCS Co-curricular

We’re pleased to announce a helpful update to our co-curricular system: a new “Late” option has been added to activity registers, and a dedicated “Lateness” report is now available. This means that if a pupil arrives late to a club or activity, staff can record them as “Late” rather than simply “Present” — giving a more accurate picture of attendance.

As well as improving register accuracy, the change means lateness is now included in several reports, including the Daily Lateness Report, Activity Club Attendance, and Full Attendance Status — making it easier to track punctuality across the school.
If you’d like a step-by-step guide on how to use the new option, or advice on interpreting the new lateness data, you can find full details on the support page here:

Transport registers now include pupil medical information

Medical flags now appear on SOCS transport registers. This means that when a pupil travels on school transport, staff will have  access to key medical details such as known conditions, allergies or required medications.

This improvement supports pupil safety and wellbeing by ensuring medical needs are visible at the point of use — especially useful for staff in charge of transport, and for trips or activities where immediate awareness of medical data is critical. The data is drawn automatically from the school MIS via the integration feature, helping avoid duplication, outdated records, or insecure paper lists.

SOCS joins the Schools’ Enterprise Association

We’re delighted to share that SOCS is now a corporate member of the Schools’ Enterprise Association — a step made even more meaningful as we were recommended by several of our partner schools.

We’re very much looking forward to attending the SEA Conference on 23–24 March at Epsom College and connecting with member schools from across the network.

This marks an exciting opportunity to support colleagues working within the commercial arms of both independent and state schools, particularly with the introduction of our new Facilities Module and the growing demand for smarter, more streamlined operational tools.

The Schools’ Enterprise Association is an independent membership organisation providing guidance, collaboration, and best practice for those leading commercial activity in education — and we’re proud to be part of it.

A busy month of events for the SOCS team

November was an exciting month for the SOCS team, with two fantastic opportunities to connect with schools and share what’s coming next across our platform.

Berkhamsted IT Conference
We were proud to sponsor this year’s Berkhamsted IT Conference, where Cullen and Megan represented SOCS. It was a brilliant day engaging with Directors of IT, discussing the evolving digital landscape in schools, and giving a first look at some of the exciting developments on the SOCS roadmap.

ICE Education Conference
James headed to the ICE Education Conference, another highlight of the month. We were delighted to welcome more than 50 schools to our workshop on using SOCS to run and elevate a whole-school co-curricular programme. It was a great opportunity to share best practice and hear how schools are using SOCS to strengthen the student experience.

Connecting with schools in Singapore

November wasn’t just busy at home — we also had the pleasure of connecting with schools internationally.

We kicked things off at the FOBISIA Annual Leadership Conference in Kuala Lumpur, where Tracy and Jim met so many school leaders from across the region. It was fantastic to hear how schools are using SOCS and to share a glimpse of what’s coming next.

We also held a SOCS User Group hosted by Tanglin Trust School. We enjoyed a great turnout from our Singapore schools, with sessions full of thoughtful discussion, practical feedback, and shared experiences. A huge thank you to the Tanglin team for their warm welcome and for creating such an engaging environment for collaboration.

To all the schools who joined us, thank you. Events like these highlight the strength of the SOCS community and the value of coming together to share ideas and shape the future of school sport and activities. We’re excited to continue these conversations and look forward to seeing you at future user groups.

Wishing You a Restful Festive Season

As we approach the end of term, we want to extend our thanks to all our schools for their continued support and partnership throughout the year. We hope the break brings a chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends.

Wishing you a happy and restorative festive season — and a very Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. We look forward to an exciting year ahead with our SOCS community.
