You can now send team selection notifications to pupils, parents, or both — all in one go directly from SOCS Sport.

Simply choose the date, select 'Fixture Emails' and the teams you want to contact (all teams or specific ones), write your message and send. Emails are delivered via our mail server, so there is no need to send messages from your own address team by team.

Whether you need to share last-minute changes or confirm pick-up arrangements, this new feature makes communicating with your teams quicker and easier.

If you wish to use this feature, please get in touch with us at support@socs.tech who can get this switched on for your school.

Introducing the SOCS Standards: AI Readiness, Powered by Pedagogue

AI adoption across schools is accelerating. Governors are asking to see evidence that AI policies are being implemented, and inspectors increasingly expect proof that schools are using AI safely and responsibly.

SOCS Standards: AI Readiness, powered by Pedagogue, is the first AI training and governance platform designed specifically for teaching staff. It equips school leaders to move beyond policy and demonstrate school-wide adoption of safe, responsible and compliant AI use.

The programme provides structured staff training, governance support and an evidence pack to help schools show parents, governors and inspectors that AI is being used appropriately across the school.

New guidance paper: safe, responsible streaming in schools

A new guidance paper, Safe, Responsible Streaming in Schools, has recently been introduced by PADSIS, Girls’ Schools Association, The Heads' Conference and Independent Schools’ Bursars Association, with contributions from SOCS and Joymo.

Streaming is now a regular part of school sport, but it carries important safeguarding, governance and data protection responsibilities. The guidance outlines 13 clear principles to help schools ensure their streaming arrangements are safe, compliant and aligned with Keeping Children Safe in Education and UK GDPR.

The guidance was introduced at the recent HMC and GSA conferences, where Sarah Rollings (GSA), Kevin Knibbs (HMC), James Kershaw-Naylor (SOCS) and Mike Emery (Joymo) were available to discuss the principles and answer questions from school leaders.

GSA and HMC Heads have now received the guidance. We encourage schools to review it with their Head and Bursar to ensure current streaming arrangements remain robust, well-governed and fully compliant.
